California Gold Rush [Digital Chocolate]
Are you one of those who can’t resist the temptation of getting more money? Gold rush might be your best way to mine gold and indirectly earn the satisfaction of getting more money! Get your adrenaline running and start mining your way down the miner’s way to the shining heaven!
How to play?
When you think of gold, you would want money, right? Yes, the goal of the game is to search for gold and sell them to earn enough money to win. The point is, how do you win? Easy. Tap on the screen to perform any movement that you want (including mining, purchasing, moving and so on). You would lose stamina as you perform any action and with limited stamina, you need to reach at least the minimum amount of cash earned to go through the stage.
Tips : To maximize your stamina, increases your backpack capacity and purchase the underground shop as and when you can. Use more dynamites as they don’t waste any stamina (Be careful : you might blow up those gold hidden in the fog. However, dynamites would not destroy any pandora box or even lava). Maps are more useful to review the hidden fogs underground in the later stages of the game as those heavy boulders might block the path and waste your dynamites as well as your stamina. Last but not least, have a chat in the local bar or something, it will help to boost your stamina by 20 and sometimes there’s bonus stages for you to play! To view the map, use 2 fingers and drag towards the location that you would want to see. (It helps in planning where you wanna mine)
Bonus : Remember to find all 5 artifacts along the way to enable you to be eligible to play the last stage of the game!
Overview
The game is fun for someone who likes earning loads of money without any risks (Exhibit A – Me). In terms of graphics, Digital Chocolate has outdone themselves! The smoke from dynamite explosion and those effect in the hidden fog such as shining stars (indication of gold) and red dot (indication of lava or artifact) had enhanced the interaction with the players. Well, imagine you’re playing the game without these effects and with it. You’ll probably won’t play it without them because it would look dull and all.
Some of you might be frustrated and not be able to stay patient enough to complete certain stages (I know I did for a few) because of the tension of blowing up the wrong mine and stuff. Probably Digital Chocolate should install some hints or some walkthroughs for the game. You know game is for people to enjoy and all, if it is too stressful, who would want to continue playing it?
In terms of traps ands stuff, they have outdone themselves with all the relevant factors that might happen in a mine such as bats, lava, earthquakes and so on. (The creators might be miners themselves too) Well, I’m not sure there’s any ice down there but you would found that ice is your best friend when you met lava! It might be kinda frustrating when you have too many ice around because you’ll be skiing your way through the ice and will be unable to mine the part you want.
