Neuroshima Hex [Big Daddy's Creations]
Are you a strategy game player? Do you like challenges? Are you good at plotting your plan to achieve your goal?
If it is a triple yes from you, Neuroshima Hex is one game that you don’t wanna miss!
Essentially, the game requires you to attack and kill the other opponents. To do this, you must destroy the opponents’ headquarters (which is the first tile that you place in the game with a 20/20 health points). What makes this game interesting is that there is 4 different types of Headquarters but with the same HP mainly:
1. Red : Increases the damage for range tiles by +1.
2. Blue : Increases the initiative of any tiles by +1.
3. Yellow : Increases the damage for melee tiles by +1.
4. Green : Double the number of attacks for any attacking tiles.
Note : The tiles needs to stick to any 6 sides of the HQ to gain this effect.
There’s a total of 19 slots of hexagon tiles that you can place on the field. If the 19 slots are all filled with tiles, battle will automatically commences! Besides that, there’s also instant tiles that can initiate battle.
After placing the HQ, you would be given a tile. You can either keep it by tapping on the top left corner of your screen, discard it by holding on the card and press on the ‘X’ that appears or even place the card on the field. Whenever you receive 3 cards per turn, you’ll need to discard one out of the three and whenever you initiate the battle tile, that’s also the end of your turn!
Basically, there will have different types of tiles that you can use. And whenever you place a tile down, you can actually rotate by tap and hold onto the side of the tile to get the direction of attack that you wanted.
There’s instant tiles such as :
Battle tile (Initiates battle)
Push tile (Look like an arrow pointing upwards and it is use to push the opponents’ tiles away)
Move tile (It also looks like an arrow but it curves around and it enables you to move any tiles anyway you want)
Grenade (It can only be use against those tiles that is near to your HQ)
Rocket (It basically clears 7 tiles in a 2-3-2 shape [Be careful as it could also destroy your own tiles])
Aim (Looks like an aim and its function is just like the Grenade but you can use it on any tiles)
As for the remaining tiles, they’re basically use to place on the field to support or even to attack and destroy the enemies. The difference between a support and an attacking tile is that an attacking style has an attacking symbol, an indication for initiative ranking as well as the direction of attack.
Indicators :
Melee damage (a triangular kind of thing that would stick to the side of your hexagon, when there’s 2 of them on the same side, it would mean that the card would be performing a double attack)
Range damage (it would look almost the same like the Melee damage indication except that it is a longer triangle than the melee one)
Initiative (it is the number that is shown on the face of the hexagon, the higher the number of the initiative, the earlier you can attack)
Extra life (it would be shown as a ‘+’ symbol on the tile which means that particular tile would have one HP more than others)
Move (some of the tiles would have this symbol on it, this would mean that the tile would be able to move one slot or even change direction for each of your turn)
Prevents attack (a grey area that looks like a bigger triangle that the damage symbol, it basically prevents your opponents [including the HQ] from attacking. [Note : if 2 players with this kind of tiles facing each other, there would be no effect on both tiles]
2 Stars (this is an indication of double attack)
For the supportive tiles, there’s also a red battery that would eliminate all supportive tiles that stays close to it.
Tips :
If you were to be more defensive, take on the side of the field for your HQ to prevent excessive attacks. On the other hand, if you wanted to be more aggressive, place your HQ in the middle part of the field to utilize its support.
Use the tiles that can prevent others to attack more on the HQ so that your tiles that has a melee damage would not die off. The enemies would not be able to move their HQ at this mode too!
Move your HQ away whenever there’s too many targets aiming at you!
Sometimes it is good to put tanking tiles (tiles that have longer life or with a lot of ‘+’) around your HQ to assist in defending.
You can always tap on the top right corner during the battle mode to skip all the actions!
Pros
1. A very challenging game (You can always change the difficulty of the game at the settings)
2. It would be a very fun and bonding game if you play in a group.
3. A different strategy game compared to the others.
Cons
1. Graphics would not really attract visual players but from my point of view, there’s nothing much to add to this kind of games.
2. There’s no Bluetooth connection to link iPhones to play with each other.
3. It would be weird to play multi-players on the same iPhone.
